About
Shilohs of Dalikida
It all started when one of our dogs came back
into our lives when his co-owner had to move out of town and
could only take one of his two dogs. Lancer a 12 year
old King Shepherd, was coming back to live with us for just a
short period of time which turned out to be much longer.
After just a short time we could see that Lancer missed his
playmate and we considered a Shiloh as a another family member
and to keep Lancer company. While visiting Cheryl at
ShadowGate Farm we fell in love with one of her Chain/Dreamer
puppies, and knew that Lancer would love him as well.
We had been following the Shiloh breed for some
time and knew that if we were to bring another dog into our
home it would be a Shiloh. Not only were we looking for
a good companion dog, but one that would meet our lifestyle and
would interact well with children. Lakota, our first
Shiloh, won our hearts over right away. As he grew as a
puppy we could see his character showing through as a loving
loyal dog who loved to please and play.
Lancer and Lakota hit it off right away.
Lancer, even though he was an older dog, took Lakota in as his
best friend. Unfortunately, Lancer's time with us was
too short and we lost him, and Lakota lost his best friend.
During our time at ShadowGate Farm we also fell
in love with a beautiful dog by the name of Karma. Every
time we were getting ready to go home, we would joke that we were
taking her home with us and that we would make great foster
parents for her. Karma came to stay with us shortly
after and we are now Karma's co-owners. We were now a
two Shiloh home and Lakota and Karma were great together.
And then there were three......
Well, as many Shiloh owners already know, once you
have one Shiloh, you fall in love with the breed and you may
just find a second or third Shiloh in your home. Well,
one of the Puppies from Karma's first litter caught our eye as
we were visiting while she was whelping her litter at
ShadowGate farm. The puppy with the green collar started
showing a great personality and was just gorgeous. Very
shortly after, we knew we had to add this puppy to our home,
to our Pack.
Today our home consists of our three Shiloh
Shepherds ,
Karma, Lakota and Mace. Each Shiloh has there own
very unique personality and they get along great. Our Shilohs are very much part of our family and are loved
tremendously. We are strong believers in the breed and
are trying to do our part in furthering the breed by showing
our dogs and educating the public on this beautiful dog.
